Recieved an electronic copy of the hire agreement from The Arches today, below; hard-copy has been delayed by Royal Mail :(
Hire Agreement
For 27th August 2004
Between The Arches (hereinafter "Arches")
And
James Ramirez (hereinafter "Ramirez")
Management/Owners: Bankside Leisure Ltd trading as The Arches located at 53 - 55 Southwark Street, London SE1 1RU.
Hirer: James Ramirez at [My House]
1. Contract Period
One night only on 27th August 2004.
2. Opening Hours at The Arches
Opening hours are from 8pm until 3am; the bars at The Arches will stop serving alcoholic drinks at 2am, but will continue to serve soft drinks, tea, coffee and juices until 3am. Any alterations to these times will be by mutual agreement between The Arches and RAMIREZ.
3. Hire Fee & Other Obligations
A hire fee of £1250 is payable to Bankside Leisure, this hire fee pertains to the hire of Arch one and Arch two. A 50% deposit is due to hold the event space. The remaining payment is due prior the event. RAMIREZ will also cover the cost of a sound engineer for the evening; the charge for the engineer is £100.00.
4. Production & Décor
The production team acting on behalf of RAMIREZ will be allowed access to The Arches six hours before the RAMIREZ event, in order to put up and install various items of production as deemed necessary by them. RAMIREZ's production team are NOT allowed to drill holes, add or remove any of The Arches' fixtures or fittings without prior written consent from The Arches. RAMIREZ's production team will take down said materials either immediately after the event, or at a time convenient to The Arches management or an agreed time between both parties. Any materials or production brought into The Arches must have fire certificates and be approved for Health and Safety regulations.
5. Staff
The Arches agrees to provide bar staff, licences, and a manager for the event.
RAMIREZ will provide a cashier, and a host/manager to supervise each evening.
6. Security Staff
The Arches will meet the cost of licensed security staff for the evening.
7. Music
RAMIREZ is responsible for supplying and paying for all of its DJ's, who will also bring their
own headphones and stylus. RAMIREZ is responsible for the equipment during the event, and must ensure that it is used properly and professionally by its DJ's and staff. The Arches will ensure that the sound equipment is in perfect working order for the RAMIREZ event.
8. Cloakroom
The cloakroom fee charged by The Arches will be £1.50 (one pound fifty pence) per Coat or Jacket and £2.00 (two pound) per bag. The Arches will pay for the cloakroom attendant.
9. Conditions
RAMIREZ agrees to abide by all rules, regulations and any other guidelines appertaining to
the proper running of The Arches and agrees to uphold all conditions set by The Arches, which may or may not be displayed on the premises. The Arches reserves the right to terminate the event on the night if incidents which threaten the security or safety of the venue or clientele using the venue occur. The Arches also reserves the right to reduce venue size or close the event if attendance numbers drop to an unacceptable level.
10. Unreasonable Behaviour
The Arches reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone should their behaviour not be
in the interest of the venue, or the health and safety of others on premises. In this case a valid reason will be given to RAMIREZ regarding anyone The Arches proposes to bar or have removed.
11. Damage
RAMIREZ is responsible for meeting the cost of repairing any damage caused to The Arches, which is deemed to be over and above general wear and tear.
12. Sponsorship and Marketing
Any sponsorship sought by RAMIREZ, which hinges on the display of publicity materials at The Arches will be discussed with The Arches management and agreed in writing before any such sponsorship agreement is finalised. Any marketing or advertisements confirmed for the event by RAMIREZ, is agreed to have the Arches logo displayed on the advertisement.
13. Drinks Tokens
The Arches will give RAMIREZ 10 free selected alcoholic drinks tokens. These are valid on that night only.
14. Lighting
All effects lighting other than the lighting already in house will be provided by RAMIREZ. It is agreed that RAMIREZ will get information on lighting rig installations and safety reports and discuss in a meeting arranged prior to the start of this contract. The Arches can provide The Light Jockey programme and a qualified engineer (with at least 1 week notice). The cost of The Light jockey and Engineer for the evening is £280.00. The Arches can also hire lasers and other lighting that is required.
Any questions arising from it? Is it sound?
At the moment all I can think of is: a) For section 7 there is no mention of stage for the bands, nor bands themselves; b) For section 12 we should confirm they will be able to supply us with the necessary electronic file.
