It seems the relief of pressure, both to get this organised and on the release at work, has eased slightly and given me a chance to think about the masked ball a little. And so some thoughts:

Yes, if you go for a Friday it's best to avoid the 1st, 2nd or last Fridays as those are Dead and Buried, B Movie and Tenebrae respectively. No point creating clashes if it's not necessary.

Aye, that'd be cool if you have the time. Just use a big A for the venue logo (as per the A on their site)

It is actually cheaper and with a larger capacity - providing a little more leeway for breaking even as well!

And I'm with incy on the cooler weather being a good thing, given that I'd actually consider wearing clothes for this one!

I think you should get a date and once you have it go for it. If pweople then plan something else on that date it is there look out not yours. Also get most of the logisitcs together: date, venue, bands and so on and then go for themes (that way you know what you have to play with). One advantage of doing it at the times you are planning is that it is not going to be as hot, which means dressing up is easier or at least more comfortable.

Having said that like the idea of the theme and the hwole masquerade type thing.

It is worth checking I agree, but once you deicde on the date, then go for it and it is the date cast in stone, there will be enough other stuff to do without worrying about dates.

Oh yeah, and good name as well!

Reminds me of the junkyard of memories in Labyrinth to an extent as well. Which is all good!
