"Scene"? "Metro"? God, I really am getting old. Back in my day we used to worry about looking too indie. Instead of worrying about that I decided to dress myself in old garbage bags and used tupperware and harass passers-by by shouting dirty limericks in German.
Anyway, keep in mind Oscar Wilde's quip that fashion is a form of ugliness so unbearable that people have to change it every three to four months. Go with your gut when putting something on it.
