So shock of shocks. I actually pay for some music now. In my life I've bought maybed a couple dozen CDs, including those gotten from a failed columbia house mail order thing like 10 years ago. I'm a big believer in the media tax that we pay on our CDs here and I just like downloading stuff. Mainly because I've pretty much always been broke. Anyway ( Read more... )

hehe, it all started when I found this really nice remix of "Such Great Heights" by John Tejada. It was really good and I was looking high and low for more of his stuff. I couldn't find any on any p2p network and finally came across an album of his at emusic. They were rather cheap so I spent some time making sure they weren't some fly by night site, and then finally broke down. I got 100 free songs for signing up, and I get 65 songs per month for $15, which works out to like 23 cents per song, which is good compared to other legit downloading which is like 99 cents a song. Sure I don't get top 40, but whatever I hate it, and I've found a lot of good music on there which, when searching, isn't available elsewhere. its been an interesting experience to say the least. Late last night I came across a free track: "35 Black and white - Over the Atlanic" which is really good. Never would have heard them otherwise. I'll send the song to you sometime.
