Minor Melodies
Shibutani Subaru, Yasuda Shota

Notes:This is written for Subaru's birthday, but since Yasu's one is totally focused on Subaru, it's the reverse this time. Inspired by their Life ~Me no Mae no Mukoe~ Music Station performances. It's sort of implied that they're in an established relationship, but it can be read as close friendship as ( Read more... )

Oh how I wish this was the way things turned out after the first live. ♥ I love how you play with words. Yasu's thoughts, Baru's reaction and all that. Good job with this! And I love the ending too much! Sweet but not too sweet for me to have toothache. *thumbs up*

But the hopeful revenge for the 2nd perf has only semi-succeeded cause this time the instruments failed them somehow. Ahehehe. Tho better than first perf.

Thanks ♥ I'm glad it wasn't too fluffy xDD

Shhhh, we don't speak of the second performance. Seriously though, I wanted to hug them so much after they performed in the second week...their expressions as they sit in the back were so serious DDDD:

Oh, this is cute <3
Now I feel all bad about the times I've ever criticized them ;_____;
they're trying hard, but this is just new for them.
Good that they're there for each other <3

Thanks for this~ :)

...Their performances really weren't all that good those two weeks though xDD Which is why I love listening to it so much, the distant voices due to microphones being too far and the guitar sounds breaking up and it all feels so real and QASFJ:KLA IT'S PERFECT.

Thanks for commenting <333

I really enjoyed this! Especially the relationship dynamics. It left me wanting to see more of this Yasuba. The little details like Subaru leaving out two shirts and Yasu picking the one that belonged to Subaru.... I loved that! You did a good job with Yasu's point of view too. He is much more complex than people give him credit for and it's hard to not just portray him as the cutesy Yasu we all love.

So yeah, awesome! And I can't wait to read more from you ♥

Thank you ♥ I can't promise to write more though, eeek.

I really do think Yasu is a lot more complex than he looks. He's always so quiet in the makings and so often alone with his guitar that I find it difficult to try and guess how he thinks. Glad you liked my portrayal :DD

This is really lovely, I love your mentions of the group relationships, the three ossan in the Tokyo battlefield (Ryo too right?, but not quite in the same way?), Maru's kindness and support, the way you describe Maru's bass harmony and the steadiness of Ohkuras drums. I couldnt help but notice theres no mention of Ryo at all, the performance, backstage, or in Yasu's thoughts. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, it makes me a little sad, that maybe Ryos close to them all, but theres like a barrier or gap between them, he was with hina/yoko/baru in Tokyo but he cant really bond with them the same way, He should have that bond Maru and Yasu (and Ohkura)from passing the auditions together and BIG West days, but he got pulled away with secret agent man and stuff with the Tokyo Juniors. I think Maru, Yasu and Tacchon have a formed a strong connection through their instruments as a band on top of being in the group. Ohkura mentions in his Shounen Club Premium ep that there was a bit of distance between him and Ryo when the four when they ( ... )

I wasn't a fan back then either, their history fascinated me too. Its mostly stuff I gathered from watching all the the members Shounen Club Premium episodes, translations of interviews, photos and old video clips. Ryo mentioned that Yoko/hina/subaru were always together, and felt sense of rivalry with the Tokyo Juniors that he didnt feel because he often worked apart from them alone with other juniors. Yeah Ryo is quite a bit younger and looked TINY back then, I thought their dynamics were really cute, maybe more like the ossan looking out for Ryo more like a little brother than close friends like now. I'm thinking about the Gakibara video of the Tokyo vs Kansai Junior triathlon. Tackey, Tsubasa, Yamapi, Ikuta Toma and Jimmy Mackey VS Yoko, Hina, Subaru and Ryo. Its a really cute and interesting clip you should watch if you havent yet ^^. hehe theres an tiny instant where Subaru saves Ryo from Tackeys headlock ( ... )

I think they treat him like a younger brother even now :) People don't really go to their younger brothers for emotional support when they're young, but that changes as we grow. I don't know about the particular episode you're talking about, but I've seen a few tv shows with all of them in it. I remember watching and really disliking Tackey's attitude :\
