Lust - Chastity: Lilith and Diana

This person was madly in love with the man afflicted by pride and humility. She lusted after him constantly, especially after it became apparent that he did not want her at all, but she would also simultaneously stop herself from doing so, to keep her mind chaste. Soon, these two conditions took over her entire mind, causing her to split into the demon Lilith and the goddess Diana.

Pride - Humility: Lucifer and Hephaestos

The woman afflicted by lust and chastity was in love with this man. However, he was far too arrogant and proud to accept her, which eventually led to her downfall. An extremely humble side arose in him and caused him so much guilt over what happened to the woman that his mind could no longer take it. He split into the demon Lucifer and the god Hephaestos.

Greed - Liberality: Tyche and Nemesis

This man started gambling small amounts of money and found quickly that luck was definitely on his side. Before long, he started gambling larger and larger amounts, taking small losses and coming back with more than he had in the beginning. Then one day, he bet everything he had, thinking he could get it back if he lost it. Not only did he win very little of it back, the rest was stolen and the thief killed everyone at that table except for the man. Shocked at his losses, his mind decomposed, leaving behind the demon Tyche and the goddess Nemesis.

Envy - Kindness: Yatagarasu and Suzaku

A very wealthy woman once existed. Her various luxuries filled many of her closets, and yet she was never satisfied. Her neighbors, wealthier than her, had more and always seemed to be able to keep ahead of everyone with little effort. She knew her envy was silly and that she should certainly have been satisfied. She convinced herself that she was satisfied, and life went on until the neighbors brought home another fancy sports car. She completely snapped because of the opposing ideas in her mind, therefore giving rise to the demon Yatagarasu and the god Suzaku.

Wrath - Patience: Mars and Athena

There were a pair of adult twins, one woman and one man. The woman and her brother never truly got along, as her brother would always try to subjugate her. Furthermore, they were still stuck living with their parents due to extenuating circumstances. She tried to be patient and put up with his total lack of respect for him, keeping in mind that after one more year, she could leave. However, she was weaker than she thought: he pushed her over the edge of her anger, and she retaliated by stabbing him to death. The horror of realizing what she had done caused her to turn the kitchen knife upon herself, but instead of dying, she split into the demon Mars and the goddess Athena.

Sloth - Diligence: Belphegor and Hades

A wealthy man was notoriously lazy. He had hired staff to do just about anything and everything for him; he even used a wheelchair to get around (and someone to push it!) just because he didn’t want to walk. It was hell for the servants, but the man took no notice. One day, all his hired help had become fed up with his extreme laziness. All of them left, and he was alone. Rather than try to do anything himself, he sat in his chair for days on end until he wasted away into the demon Belphegor and the god Hades.

Gluttony - Abstinence: Beelzebub and Odin

There once was a man who loved electronics. It didn’t matter to him what it was, what it did, how much it was…if he saw it and it was an electronic device, he bought it. His wife had given him many ultimata before; if he didn’t stop buying useless gadgets, she was leaving him. She did that because his habits were influencing their quality of life; some months, it was difficult to pay the bills because of it. He would stop for about a week, then he would return to his addiction. Finally, he broke his promise for the last time. His wife disappeared one day, and when he woke up in the morning, there were divorce papers. Finally realizing that he was addicted and that it cost him a partner for life, his depression eventually caused him to divide into the demon Beelzebub and the god Odin.
