my mom is a police and fire dispatcher. you know it's ranked the 3rd most stressful job in the united states behind president and air traffic controller? from the time i was a baby, to this day if she gets any sort of tragic call dealing with someone my age, she comes home in tears. but i guess the worst call you'll get from a campus police line is alcohol poisoning.

Yeah, there's really not much excitment in this city. Last semester the craziest thing was the fire that killed a few people who were drunk and didn't make it out of the house. I checked the police reports on their websites, and I see stuff like public intoxication, underage consumption, "student upset over bills," "couple engaged in sexual act in park," etc. I would hate to be a dispatcher for a big city, I am sure it would upset me a lot. I guess basically what they were telling me is that the cops get stressed and will probably yell at me from time to time. I do really well under stress though, I can definitely let things roll off my back. They said when something happens you just have to "let it go". I am good at that.
