Hey, it's me! Yup, I finished my first year of grad school. That was interesting, remind me to tell you about it someday. What I really came here to say was that, pending some signatures and other assorted formalities, Nicole and I bought a house in Maryland! Woohoo ( Read more... )

yay, congrats! Your life sounds a lot like mine. This summer Brad and I are trying to buy a house and a car, move to Michigan, and start grad school all at once. Oh yeah, and get married in July....!

It's nuts, right? I thought the summer was for relaxing!

Thanks much. I know we'll get it done eventually, it's just a bit daunting at this point. How are you?

Yikes, I'm sorry to hear about those first couple of things. Good to see that things seem to be looking up though. Good luck with school - I'd give you a pep talk about the importance of education, but I think my opinion is biased since I can't seem to get enough of it :)

Silver Spring - Wheaton, actually, about a 10 minute walk from the Wheaton metro stop on the red line. A townhouse off of Georgia Ave.

So how are you?

Okay - but now I have no excuse to not visit since I live right by the Silver Spring Metro. Let me know when you move in, and I'll bring something for housewarming.

Nice. Nicole and I will actually be moving in at different times, so you can bring two somethings :)

What street do you live on in Silver Spring?

Things are surprisingly well on this end. April and I are expecting our second child in November. Everyone is happy and healthy.

The writing is going well. I'm breaking into some different and sometimes larger markets. I'm enjoying the work, though I'm now looking for ... uh ... more money, I guess if I had to put it succinctly:)

So. Is clinical psychology grad school all you needed it to be? It sounds like you are doing well and that you are happy.

Chris, are you thinking of selling out?!? Because if so, I wholeheartedly support it. In fact, I wish I had someone to sell out to, but options are limited outside of being the next Dr. Phil (who isn't even a mental health professional, that quack ( ... )

Congrats on all of the above! I'm jealous, I'm still slugging through my last 2 weeks of classes before exams even begin! I feel your pain about moving, though - so glad that's the one thing I don't have to deal with. And I'm sure the house is awesome. Where is it? What's it like?

Ugh, sorry to hear you're still slogging through classes. I was actually done at the beginning of May. We had a really weird school year this year, schedule-wise.

The house is a townhouse in Silver Spring, in the Wheaton area, about a 10 minute walk from the Wheaton metro stop off Georgia Ave. It's a cool place. 3 levels, 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, walkout patio/back yard in the finished basement. A ton of storage space. It needs some work though - we're redoing the kitchen and some parts of the bathrooms. I'm excited to move in and finally have a house though!

Thanks for the congrats, good luck with school, and we'll see you guys soon!
