The funny thing is, Obama's making use of his ability to be a pretty face to convince the public that his budget is right rather than congress. Then he's asking his army of willing slaves to start a canvas campaign to pressure representatives to push the budget through. Basically, he's using the American public as his lobby group.

The important thing to remember is that we have to remember how charming Mr. Obama is that we as people must pay closer attention to WHAT he says rather than HOW he says it. Don't be convinced by his diction and his smile, be convinced by his conviction and his valid points.

I am by no means swayed by Obama's smile or "charm." I'm not really that big of a fan of his. I voted less for him, and more or less against John McCain. So, long story short, I'm not going to criticize him any less than I did President Bush... if I think he's wrong.

On the issue of his budget, I do not think he is wrong. The facts pretty much speak for themselves. By investing a huge amount of government money into the public and private sector, the economy will certainly rebound (I'm actually going to make another post on this subject tonight). There are economists who believe this economy, should Obama's budget be passed and his policies have time to process through the system, will turn around near the end of 2010.

Those nay-sayers (Glenn Beck and so-called GOP fiscal "conservatives") who continually paint Obama as some kind of socialist are way off the mark. He is really more of a moderate. In many ways he takes after Bill Clinton-- he's good at "triangulation". Compromise. I think we'll see more compromise from Obama than ( ... )

As a pretty hardcore libertarian, it's going to be weird to here me say I want "socialized" healthcare. I think that keeping the people healthy is one of the few reasonable uses of tax dollars. I just have a problem with implementing it without changing the system it's paying for. Our healthcare system is corrupt, and making the government pay the undue overhead in that system is not going to work. We need a reform to the healthcare infrastructure before we allow the government to pay for it.

I'm going to watch The Obama Deception sometime in the next few days. I expect it to be hilarious anti-Obama propaganda. A veritable laugh-riot. ^_^

I'm all for a single-payer system, one that is similar to the European or Canadian models. They work extremely well. Are they perfect? No. Is anything perfect? No. But 9 times out of ten, you will hear the Europeans or Canadians say that they are perfectly willing to suffer higher taxes and longer waits than have to endure the torture and humiliation of the American health care system.

Enjoy the Obama Deception! Sounds like fun! I'll have to check it out myself!
