[After her
strange encounter with Chris, Jill has become more determined -- and desperate -- for answers, even if it means taking the initiative and addressing the "enemy" side in hopes of learning from them what she couldn't from her own comrades. That, and she has other reasons for investigating the opposition, all right.
So, filtered directly to the Cosmos crystals, she sets up a video feed that shows her facing the screen from the shoulders up with a steady hand.]
Hello? ...My name is Jill Valentine. I've established a private line between myself and anyone on the Cosmos side -- from what I've heard, I'm assuming you're all as in the dark about this war as we are. [She hesitates] ...I am on the Chaos side, but believe me, it's not by choice. Like most of those with me, I woke up here without any memory of how.
At first, I thought it was random -- a bunch of soldiers from all over the world showing up to fight for those who recruited them, but... [She glances aside, obviously bothered by a thought, but her eyes harden as she looks back to the screen] ...I'll just say that I no longer think that that's the case.
Listen, I know we're supposed to be enemies, and for whatever reason, we're expected to fight each other. But I have nothing personal against you all -- and like most of us, I just want to know the reasoning behind this. If any of you can tell me something -- why we're here, how, who's really pulling the strings -- anything that I don't know... [That hardness diminishes a bit -- she's not emotional, but there's sincerity in her words, and meaning] ...I'd appreciate it. More than you know.
