Our Economy & Society

I spent the better part of Anthropology class writing this. It's a small collection of my opinions about our society.
I though it was hilarious when I was finished:

this is a pretty common opinion among students in the social sciences and philosophy. i take that as proof that a little education is a dangerous thing.

the person who came up with the machine you typed this entry into is not an idiot. neither is the person who came up with the means by which we are engaging in this discussion.

furthermore, the system which supported both of those people is not idiotic, either. it is well designed to do a lot of very complicated things.

if you are surrounded by stupid folks, you may be a local high point in a broad basin. but that doesn't mean that the world is populated by people dumber than you. it just means that the world tolerates and (to a degree) makes use of idiocy on a large scale. think about why that is, and you might be getting somewhere.
