It wasnt exactly a happy marriage for my parents.Dad was cheating on Mum.His trysts with other women were legendary.Being a little boy of six at that time,I didnt know what were the screamings and slaps at night all about.Mum was always in tears.But somehow,they always put up this facade of a happy family when they go to events like this.

Men in tuxedos were dancing around with elegantly garbed ladies.It was getting hot and stuffy here.I felt so stilf in the mini tuxedo I was wearing.All I wanted was to go and explore the place.This place looked like a castle from the fairy tales Mum read to me every night.
Who knows,I might find a princess trapped somewhere.
Thinking that,I slid down from the chair and snuck into one of the side-doors.

I made it! I hope Dad will not go bonkers at me.
I went around the rooms.All the rooms looked the same.The furniture looked like the ones in the house.Nothing but gold,shining wood,creepy sculptures.Well,this place has a fairy in addition.
Wait a minute.A fairy?
I backtracked to the corridor I passed a few moments.My eyes were not deceiving me.In a small room,a little girl dressed in a frilly white dress with ribbons everywhere sat down forlornly looking at the snow falling outside.

I couldnt take my eyes off her.With long flowing black hair with snowflake-shaped hairpins stuck in them,she looked like the snow fairy.

Such a beautiful song.It was much better than the ones those clown-like women were singing outside.The song was so pure...so gentle...and so...melodious.
I was listening to her song so intently.Suddenly footsteps were heard.
Man A:
Young master NAME!Where are you!
NAME:
Shoot! *runs into the room and closes the door as quietly as possible*
The footsteps passed by the room.Sighing in relief,I sank down on the floor.I looked up and saw the "fairy" looking at me in timid fear.

I was tongue-tied.Crystal blue eyes met mine.One way or another I needed to provide an explanation to this being.I remembered what my tutors taught me to say in situations like this.Be very polite and formal.I gabbled out something what the old fogey said to me before in a class.

I am sorry,Miss Fairy.I wanted to explore the place alone,and I suddenly heard your beautiful song.Please forgive my rudeness.

Her face took on an expression of wonder.

Er...er....you are a fairy,right?A snow fairy?You are dressed all in white,you have snowflakes in your hair,so you must be a snow fairy.
Her face broke into a smile.I was immediately captivated by that smile.I wanted to see that smile again.

Outside,snow was falling.The ground were being carpeted with a layer of white.Me and her looked at the spectacle in silence.

I yelled out in despair.She stopped and turned back before the door closed.

The bells suddenly rang.It was midnight.It was the end of the magical night.Christmas was over.But,for me,NAME,aged 6,I had fell in love for the first time.
Suddenly,I opened my eyes.The "bell" ranged persistantly.
NAME:
That dream.....
The same bells were ringing in my ears.I looked at my surroundings.I was in my room.The alarm clock showed 6.00 am.Yawning wearily,I stumbled up and slammed the alarm clock ringer.

Somehow I felt something was nagging at my brain again.A fact which I totally forgot until I looked at the calender,then the cupboard,and finally the window.
