#000 // The Dream

It was raining. He could see it pouring down from grey leaden skies, but he couldn't feel the wetness on his face. He could feel tiny spots of pressure as it impacted his skin; he reached up and brushed a hand over his face. It came away wet with redness rather than the clear purity of the raindrops.

He looked down; there was a corpse laying next to him. It looked familiar...no, it was more than merely familiar. He knew that face, even bloodied and lifeless. Itachi. Brother. Murderer. VENGEANCE...no. LIES. The words whirled through his mind, leaving behind indelible tracks. He might not piece things together, but he would remember those words. He looked up; he could see another figure in the misty distance, white skin, black hair, surrounded by snakes. The serpentlike person smiled once, a venomous expression.

The shape blurred along with the rest of his vision. Now someone was standing in front of him; golden hair, bright blue eyes, whiskered cheeks. Orange something. Naruto, his mind whispered to him. He didn't know what it meant, but the word lingered along with the impression that this was somehow very important. Behind him were two less-distinct shapes; one a young female with pink hair, the other male, silver hair, but with only darkness where there should have been a face. The blond was the most vivid though, right in front of him. They were important. HE was important. At first there was a smile on his face, and he felt himself smiling too; a second later the emotion changed and he had a sword in his hand with the blade at the other young man's throat and something similarly sharp at his own. The previously blue eyes were now red and slitted, but whatever malicious emotion they held wasn't directed at him. They seemed to want him back somehow. A feral smile bared sharp teeth; a voice growled out a single word. "Drake."

His sword vanished from his hand and a whirling ball of something-or-other came flying at his chest. The impact was the only thing he felt before the dream went black.
