You know the real problem with the glass metaphor? It really depends on if you are drinking or you are pouring. At least that is how I look at it.
My SO and I have been "together" three years in April. It is hard, and I don't really know most of her friends. I know them by name, but I have never met them. It is just one of those things I suppose.
But! Don't think I am down playing your situation! I am trying to let you know that I understand completely and if you need someone to talk to, we are all here to help.
