Excuse my ignorance of Europe, but how does one get from England to the Netherlands - by train (the Chunnel, right?) or plane? Is it very expensive for you?
You can get there by air or through the Chunnel but as I live in the north of England and quite near an airport, it's easier for me to fly :)
The flights themselves aren't horribly expensive but the taxes are ridiculous. If you book way in advance you can get super cheap return tickets for around £10 but once the government's chucked their bit on, it's closer to £100.
I know that's absolutely nothing compared to what some people have to pay when they're flying to the ends of the Earth but when you're in the air for less than an hour (it takes me longer to drive to the airport ^^) it stings a little.
Bummer! It still sucks having to fork over money like that, whether it's more or less than anyone else has to pay. If you were to go by train, it likely wouldn't be much cheaper, right?
Still, it's gotta be great to have such a short flight that the attendants probably don't have time to get the peanuts and soda out. There's always a plus side to every situation, right? =)
