Picture heavy post :) :)
The two pictures ahead are taken using my bro's point and shoot (Fujifilm). It would have looked worse had I used my Sony T20 I think.
Black pepper beef at ichiban-boshi esplanade :)
The executive set. Ok my hand shook so the photo looks quivering :( Anyway I totally love the Chawanmushi okay. Although I don't know what a standard chawanmushi is supposed to be like, I reallllly love the broth and the chicken mushrooms and steamed egg combi... mmm. I ordered this mostly cos of the chawanmushi and salmon sashimi... Wasn't v enthused about the beef. But the beef was better than I expected!
OKAY this is the main point of my entry! My brother has agreed to teach me food photography, so he's lending me his ultra-expensive body + lenses. Being the photog noob that I am, all I know is that his was a Canon DSLR and its the 2nd most expensive body in the whole range. And that the lenses were the 2nd cheapest in the range or something. HAHA. I'm still learning okay.
Okay when I was sifting through the photos I got damn hungry :( And I have a very strong urge to go back to Astons to eat...
I don't like most of my photos and these were the best I could pull out :( sigh. There's something wrong with EVERY photo. I feel like I'm doing the equipment injustice OMG. It's like, the effect and everything can be achieved already but I still go screw up the framing, what to focus on, the angle etc.... This has an UGLY blob of sauce and what were those pasta things doing on my chicken?!
This to me was abit off-centre. But anyways, I've always been reading about agnes b delices (cos of the membership emails), but I finally saw them for myself! Cos Val bought them back from HK as presents.
Haha the other photos of the chocolates were too ugly (like no focus on anything!) so this is a blur one to hide the imperfections. I increased the light compensation thingything and my hand accidentally shook hahaaha.
I wanted to make the right-most chocolate bar focussed and the other 2 soft but I failed. HAHA. I might try taking more pics with these cos val gave these bars to my family :)
OKAY I'm honestly very disappointed with the photos. HAHA like I didn't know I was that lousy lah okok humbling experience. BUT I'm v excited and can't wait to practise more! I'm super thankful for my brother and his expertise + equipment cos I've always wanted to do a foodblog but felt that my photos aren't up to it. So maybe this will be a first step toward realising that dream!
