gross, you suck, i literally just left my comment at the other post.

copy/pasta:

ughhhh i love this omg seriously retirement fics are like, my secret hidden weakness, and you did it so well.

lol the title. well done!

love how xavi is motherhenning villa, making sure he gets out of the house.

ahahaha leo SO would just open the door, all whatever. Leo frowns. "Fans have visited, I guess," he says. but like, no big deal, he's so used to it that it's whatever, like it's totally normal that the cabbie knows where he lives. i can really see that, him being forgetful like that, or maybe just not even thinking that privacy is something he could and should have.

yesssss villa just making himself at home in the kitchen. he so would. what a ~lovable dicksmack~

omg tho, how leo eats on grounds most days because he's all alone ;;;___;;; BUT YOU'RE NOT ALONE ANYMORE, LEO!!! VILLA IS THERE~~~

lol grocery shopping together. such boyfrans, i cannot even. it's like, one of the major precursors to sex, nah mean?

David remembers that Leo ( ... )

His herbs are starting to sprout in their mason jars, tiny green buds rising above the dirt. meanwhile, villa is starting to ~come alive~ again, starting to get out of his funk. i see what you did.

remember how i told you i was gonna put every cliche ever into this fic? yeah. about that...

ilu! ty for listening to me whine about this for a month straight ♥

this is crazy lovely. i think your leo is really spot on (i'd be shocked if the man knew how to pick out produce) and i just really like his little world here-- the moment with his brother sticks out as a favorite for some reason. it's really lovely and understated how he pushes villa forward without really doing anything. awesome story <3

ah thank you so much! this is great to hear coming from someone who writes leo a fair bit- i've not, much, so i was terrified of taking this on. i'm so glad you like it! (off to read your retirement fic now- i'm about to come across as a huge fangirl, but i've been bribing myself with your fic to finish writing all of my holiday exchanges. it's been a very good incentive!)

I love how Xavi acts like a mother hen and Leo doesn't know what tomatoes are good and David cooks for Leo - omg the thought of domestic David is killing me. I would quote my favourite parts but my comment would end up a gianter block of spam, so...

"Because," David says, and it's hard- he's not talked about this with anyone, because Patricia knew when it was happening, and nobody else asked. "Because Valencia couldn't keep me anymore and I didn't want to leave the first time, so how could I leave the second time? And I didn't want to wash up in the MLS or anything, so I just. I wanted to stop where I was happy."

"Were you happy, though? After you stopped?" Leo asks.

And that's the hardest part, because- "I should have been," David says. "I wanted to be. I had the girls, and Patricia, and a life, and I. I should have been."

"It's okay," Leo says.

"No," David says. "It's not, because that should be enough, they should be enough, but they weren't." Nothing was, until now, he thinks. He doesn't say it, though, can't say it. I think ( ... )
