I finished Hotel Dusk last night. Pretty good game. Random comments:
*KylexLouis for the win. Bradley’s cool but god Louis and Kyle are so fucking gay for each other. Like dude. Bradley is my second choice

Glad you finished it! I have been meaning to replay it since I hear there's some New Game Plus features, but I guess I can't be sure until play it. Blarg.
What really blows me away about this game is it's film noir to the max. By the JAPANESE?! WTF mate!
That lock picking puzzle pissed me off since I didn't have 2 styluses and I used my finger and muxxed up my touch screen. And the CPR part? That's a violation of Nintendo's own technical rules. But when you're Nintendo, rules are meant to be busted I guess. The same thing is in Phantom Hourglass.
I can only hope for a sequel. I'm not sure how well Cing was rewarded in sales...They ported their previous offering to the Wii which works but I don't see that happening with Hotel Dusk. Boo.
I was pretty surprised when I learned that it was made by the Japanese. I mean the translation and the culture is excellently represented, say instead of a fucking joke like Phoenix Wright(I love that series but why say it takes place in LA for the English release? That's like saying Persona 3 and 4 takes place in The United States and the abundence of Japanese culture is just magically there.). Maybe having a small staff on Hotel Dusk worked in its favor. Someone actually gave a shit.
Phoenix Wright has one GLARING obvious thing to lawwhores that makes it Japanese.
America doesn't have a statute of limitations on murder, Japan has one of 15 years. Which I think Japan should get rid of since organized crime members just flee the country for 15 years at a time. GJ, moon.
The dialog localization and keeping the pun names in tact was a feat. But saying it's in LA is bullshit.
I played Trace memory around its release, and I'm pissed the Wii game didn't get a NA release. :/ I think Hotel Dusk has a better plot though. Things sort of go wtf near the end of Trace Memory, but its still a good game.
I agree with you on the most part, but I really haven't played it in awhile. XD I'm stuck on Chapter 4. I have no clue where to go, which happens a lot to me in this game. XD I really like Kyle's observations sometimes. They can be rather witty and hilarious. Oh, how I wish I wrote some of them down.
And I just went on a marathon and beat it. I had a terrible feeling that not everything would be solved by the end of it, and I was right. :( You were right, the puzzles were poorly implemented at times (I almost laughed with that code in the computer). But overall, I highly enjoyed it. Did you do that number sidequest with the vending machine? I got all the numbers, but I never got the coins to put in the machine.
Yeah, its nothing speical though. All you get is a stupid bunny doll you can give to Jessica(the brat) and she's just all "thanks!" Has no effect on the ending whatsoever. Second playthrough you can get lipstick instead to give to one of the girls in the game to put the moves on em I guess. XD (sadly, Racheal isn't one of em. :P)
Congrats on finishing Hotel Dusk :D It is indeed a pretty good game, but yeah, the puzzles were rather lame/unrealistic xD
lol, personally, I ship KylexBradley for this game, but Kyle and Louis are always amusing together xD Louis reminds me a lot of Larry from Phoenix Wright actually xD ...and I must agree with you on Jeff x3 <3 Helen is cool too, and yeah, Mila was a rather bland character compared to the rest :\ I was kind of disappointed as I thought she would be more interesting, ah well.
Actually, last I heard, there is in fact going to be a sequel. It's coming out early next year in Japan. :D
I would so ship Bradley more if they had more flashback scenes with him. He was so ignored until the end, aside from Kyle's end of the chapter "where are you Bradley? I didn't mean to shoot you. Commmmeeee baccckkkk tooo meee" whines.
god, Jeff looks like my perfect type of guy. Just perfect body type, hair, face. damn damn damn.
I hope it gets localized. :( Instead of fallling through like Trace memory 2 did.
lol yeah, there was really not enough of Bradley xD Hopefully, the sequel will remedy that...
haha, he is indeed a very good-looking guy x3
Yeah, but I think it has a better chance since Hotel Dusk is a lot more popular than Trace Memory (personally, I found the latter to be rather disappointing ^^;)

If you want more Cing goodness, try Trace Memory.
