tis a jip really, i have seen the aussie guy ben is talking about too. I dont have a problem with genuine big issue sellers. I buy it every couple of months. It is when people harass you for money I dislike it.

anyone else seen the guy that comes up and asks to sing you a song near the pit? First time me and dan said sure, it was a good song, and gave him 50p. Since then we have seen him 100's of times and he is just annoying. Plus it is still the same song, arg! Maybe it is some mega publicity stunt for his forthcoming album/single or something!

heh, ive not seen either of them. As you say, big issue is one thing, as long as its genuine,I try to buy it from time to time, and will happily help someone out with a meal. blatantly lieing to you in order to get your cash is quite a different one. *frustration*

Apparently the singer guy had a single released once, and was a minor pop artist, before his decline into destitution.

I don't really have a problem with the Big Issue sellers who don't resort to harassing you at the end of the night, but I do think there are too many of them. Same goes for charity 'workers'.

I got conned by a bloke in Edinburgh. He was selling the Big Issue just outside the train station, had the genuine badge with his photo on and stuff. Asked me if I'd likea BI, said it was his last one, and indeed, he only had one. Said once he'd sold this he would have enough money for a bite to eat.

Being the nice caring soul I am, I bought the magazine and gave him an extra quid and a bit so he could get a cup of coffee.
When I got to the bus stop, 30 seconds later, I turned round and saw him pull another copy out of his coat and try the same trick on someone else.

Sadly I didn't get his badge number, but I was quite upset by that, because I had acted in kind-heartedness.

Gah.
