According to digital spy scenes which explain how Sherlock survived the fall to his death have already been filmed and the series could air far sooner than we all imagined!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Sue Vertue has tweeted:

"Sorry to be a killjoy but @steven_moffat didn't actually mean S3 of #sherlock would tx before end of year. I think that is sadly unlikely."

I assume tx means transmit. I think he probably meant it would be filming before the end of the year.
