$500K? Jesus. We're less than half of that here, and that's with the prices up because mortgages are so low. It just doesn't seem fair sometimes, ya' know... everything that you NEED is just so freaking expensive.

We have been house hunting and I refuse to pay as much as they want. We haven't completely given up but we have a set price and refuse to go over it. For us a mortgage payment (from our set purchasing price) couldn't be to much worse then our rent payment of $1055 a month!!!! You have seen our apartment and it is not worth that amount. We don't even have garages! This market stinks but your right they say it should fall soon. The paper ran a story not to long ago about how people are selling their homes for $400K and above, pocketing the money and renting until the market falls. So lets just pray that's sometime soon because my family is busting at the seams in this apartment.
