Congrats on your virgin post!
My opinion?
being gay/bisexual/straight is already a stressful one.
much less a relationship with another person.
i've watched this film and basically i must say it is a really daring project to even film it in the first place!
yes it seems every gay films out there are sad but maybe thats the way it is, the truth about the whole thing being gay.
it's ironic but true, gayhood is a tedious process filled wif the likes of disappointments, rejections, sadness and possibly death.
thou i really hope theres more positive stories to go around.
And would it be nice if our community were to band together and be united and stand up for each other?
rather than competing for more profile subscribers and organising more parties?
yes we need to party and meet ppl, but i felt a stronger support group is very much needed.
especially for young ppl who are confused and needs a platform to address their views and possibly a support group which can help them in some ways or another. but this is only a dream of mine.

actually we do have quite a few support groups here in SG.some have since merged with other organisations focussing on support groups while others focuses on the prevent of STDs like AFA.

Question is, do people approach such support groups when in need? Is there enough awareness that such groups indeed exists.

I do feel for Chee Kiong, the lead in the film. And I can see people who write in forums. True perhaps they are whinning away trying to 'gain pity' due to their plight but i don't agree with how other people reply to them. In the end I pm them instead of posting a reply. PEople need to realise, these fellas are young and new, not the 40 yr old 'old bird' AJs that they are who have 'seen it all'. Their tone is not the most pleasant, and if I were someone who needs help, I don't really think I would wanna go through this channel. Very discouraging and all.

With that said, the avenues are out there. And I do hope there will not be another Chee Kiong as far as possible.

One Chee Kiong is one too many.

yes one chee kiong is one too many. also unless these support groups do not have any hidden religious agenda then prolly it will be great.
but i feel young ppl need to have a place or even a law that allows them to be themselves while exploring their sexuality. realistically it cant be found here in sg...

i typed a long msg and it didnt appear! ARRGH

in short, i was asking what sorta place are u refering to? one that allows people to explore their sexuality.

i also talked bout the internet being a veri good source of info these days, but only at the right places n right time. it also means the door is open for everything else, for better or worse.

and i said, i think we are fine. but not the people. i dont think the people are anti homosexuality, but its the gov who seems to be making the people feel they are not ready and are conservative.

if we are not ready, when will we ever be?

Okay, that's a few lines for 25 mins worth of posting. ARRRRGH

My country is one such country that will not allow happy endings.

All we've had are like brokeback mountain, sommersturm etc.

The rest may be shown a some film festival but a lot of it may have been edited.
