Half my office using the new HP pc were hit by it after we pushed it down last week. The fix for us was to install with the latest Realtek audio drivers.
and did you know the problem for this was raised to microsoft TWO YEARS ago? haha only when the fella got tired of waiting for a microsoft patch then he released a "i forgot the term" ...
and we are fixing CURSOR ANIMATION! not critical DLL if you ask me .. LoL ...
2 years eh. i thought it was dec 2006, according to reports by sans.
yeah its like that, they dun care so people post it out. the risk is, attackers will also get to know of it.
someone was posting vulnerabilities in the mac everyday for a month. apple got so mad they want to sue him. cheyz.
well the .ani thingie is critical for any machine that goes online via web browsers. servers are okay, as long as they are used to surf. but it does require patching too, just that its not as critical as a desktop.

the interim solution for this sort of problem is to undo the patch and do a system restore.
