She felt the birth of her newest grandchilde with ease.... such a new, pure love for something so close to one of her children couldn't go unnoticed. She also knew well enough the joy of those first few days, basking in the presnse of a new baby cherub... and didn't want to disturb them any. However, ther was one she could share this with... He was never one to keep a lady waiting. More importantly he was never one to keep this Lady of Love waiting.

So he appeared, with a sly smile on his face, looking at her carefully from the wall he leaned casually against.

"You rang, M'love?"

mmm...Seems congratulations were in order, and Ithought you might want to help me celebrate...

She reclined back in a chaise, the room looking much as they did back in the golden days of Greece... all relazed, candles, scents, pillows, flowers filling the room. A Time warp of decorating... not that Aphrodite changed much no matter what the era.

To the left of her was a small table holding the requisite cheese and fruit, as well as two crystal flutes, a bucket of ice and a chilling bottle of champagne

"mmmm, celebrating anything with you, warms my heart" he said, retriving the bottle and openning the champagne. Carefully he pours them two glasses, and holds one out to her as he settles onto the chaise with her.

"Now, how exactly were you thinking of celebrating, mmm?"

she took a sip from the flute, then leaned in against him, resting her chin on his shoulder as she pressed in against his arm

Oh, I thought we could relax... have some fun... and then I've a surprise for you, dearheart.

mmm... I couldn't think of any others off hand.

And one should never stop at one glass of champagne.

She reached for another berry, and again ran it around the rim of her glass, the time offering it to his lips

He smiled at her, leaning in to take the berry between his lips and bite into softly, watching her carefully...

"You're right...one glass of champagne is never enough." He mused, after swallowing the treat. Carefully he took a sip, and settled back in the chaise, relaxing next to her as a playful smile danced across his lips.

she purred, leaning in to flick hertongue against the corner of his mouth, capturing a small bit of strawberry juice that clung there. She didn't back off, instead remeaining tight against him

Youve been having a rough time baby... I'm sorry. I've always got a shoulder if you need one, you know.

Mmmm, it was nice having her cuddle so close. Carefully he set his glance to side, and ran his now free hand through her hair.

"You make it better by just being here, Love." He said, smiling and leaning in to catch her lips in a kiss. "That's what I love about you..."

"If I was always easy to love, why did you make it so hard on me for the longest?" He teased, well over the long plight of wooing her.

But he nods, smiling. "We are good for each...to each other. I wish everyone fit so well with me..."

Because you were such a joy to watch... no one ever worked so hard to win my attentions.. I regret only that I was so enarmored with another. it didn't make you bitter though, which is always a good thing. You were never like the others.

I'm sorry other matters of the heart aren't easy on you, darling.

"Eh, bitterness wouldn't have gotten me anywhere...and most of the time, I was too happy that you were finally paying some attention to me. What can I say? I was in love..."

He grins and rest his head agianst her's and shrugs. "Eh, things will mend, right? I love her, that should be enough...right? As long as we love each other...it should be enough, that's what the say isn't it?"

He sighs and looks off to the side for a moment. "I said some nasty stuff to her, when we were fighting...She said that if I had really loved her, I wouldn't have said thought things. Is that true? If I really loved her, would I not have been as cruel?"

Far from... It's those we love most to who we can be th most cruel... sometimes it's the cruelty involved in taking one's love for granted... sometimes it's merely knowing how best to hurt those close to us, because we know their vulnerabilities.

They say love is never cruel... but it's far from the truth. Even agape love can be cruel at times. The test of love is nothing to do with whatever trials Zeus put you through... he knows love like I know how to farm tomatoes. The test is not avoiding hardships, but using them to grow stronger... Love isn't about fidelity, it's about a commitment. So many people confuse those things.
