Aphrodite could feel the recent presense of the fates - it was a pleasant arrival, particularly given how close she was to them, Atropos in particular. Hera's arrival was equally felt, though this was a much less happy event

Secure in the knowledge that his wings will not be ripped off today and that Hera if anything seems amused and or appeased for the moment, Cupid breathes a sigh of relief and heads off toward his mother's temple after hearing near urgent call.
"Mom?" He calls out after appearing just on the perimeter of her receiving area.
She smiled as she saw him, the smile just a bit too warm, a bit too welcoming - and not reaching her eyes as it so often did when she saw her son. She quickly moved over to him, taking one of his hands in both of hers my Baby... how are you?
"Oh well...you could say I have had better days mom. Don't really need to tell you where I've been and how many pairs of shoes it took to get out in one piece." Smiling thinly and giving his mother the most trusting gaze he knows, Cupid sits down with her on a pile of cushions nearby.
Mmm... I know. Hera's here, the fates are here, your sister's here... it's a regular cornucopia of new faces. Well... old faces, but you know what I mean.
She fiddled with her culrs for a moment, pushing them behind her ears, and knelt beside him on the pillows. She leaned, kissing his cheek, and smiled at him... nothing gave her joy like her eldest.

This is difficult, so I'm just going to say it... Honey, Hera isn't really your grandmother. Not in...well. She might be. More to the point...
Hephaestus... my husband... is a very caring man. a very nice, staid, stoic God. We never had a typical marriage, though, and it took centuries for us to be on even remotely civil terms. I don't think you remember everything from when you were a cherub... but... well, He's not your father. Not phyisically, at least... I... well...
