Wilson-Phale Residence, Saturday Evening (11/03)

Nov 03, 2007 18:25

His talk with Jack on Friday had certainly given Aziraphale a lot to think about. In fact, he hadn't left his library since returning to it the day before. There was a cold cup of tea on the table next to him, and eventually he'd probably heat it again and drink it. But for now, he was very much lost in thought.

Sadly, the ringing of the phone might have disrupted that odyssey of thought.

Aziraphale did jump in suprise at the ringing, and gave the phone a puzzled look before picking it up from the table.

"Yes, Mr Anders?"

"It's Phoebe," he said, and the panic and anger in his voice were hard to miss. "She's in bad shape. Really bad. Can you come up to the house?"

There was a bare second's pause, and then Aziraphale said brusquely, "I'm on my way."

He was gone before the connection finished dropping.

Returning from the events at Lana and Dean's house, Aziraphale was in perhaps the foulest mood he'd ever been in. He felt chained, incapable of doing what he knew he should do out of respect for the choices of his loved ones.

Choices that he felt were wrong. That would only end in more danger and pain.

He flung himself through the door and brought up the lights with a wave of his hand, and then proceeded to turn the living room into a disaster zone. Lamps and pictures were thrown against the wall, furniture overturned, a vase smashed with such force that it was reduced to powder.

Jack was out once more, patrolling the night and his route just happened to bring him along the way past the Leaf.

The light didn't really catch his attention, no actually it was the sound of things breaking that drew a soft frown and a quick movement off the sidewalk and up along the side of the house towards the back garden. He was not shy about going right in through the open door, though when a vase came flying his way and he was forced to duck quickly, Jack wondered if maybe he should have knocked.

"Whoa!"

The vase was followed by a chair, and it didn't even seem that Aziraphale had touched it as he whirled to glare wild-eyed at the intruder. He wasn't so far gone in his rage that he didn't recognize the man, but it was plain that the angel was not pleased to see him.

"Get out," he snapped, standing amidst the debris of what had once been a nicely appointed room.

Jack deflected the chair with surprising ease and he arched his eyebrows. Inwardly he was ... surprised to see this level of violence from a man who up till now had shown temper, yes but not such outright loss of control.

Outwardly, he smiled in a manic manner and walked further into the room.

"Now, see I'm like a cat and you're just way too interesting at the moment to walk away from."
