Shakespeare and Company is a very nice bookshop. You should visit it if you are ever in Paris. It is a vestige of that whole era of Anglo-American expats having cigarettes at Left Bank coffee tables and being disillusioned ( Read more... )

Me me me!! I want to visit it!! I want to go to Paris!! And yes! I knew I recognized it from somewhere--that Before Sunset movie. There's also a cool-looking Paris bookshop in Le Divorce (the same scene in which Kate Hudson is wearing the same Marc Jacobs jacket Alice has... er, not that you're interested in that bit of information.) but I don't think it's the same one. Did you write the article on this?

When my family visited Paris a couple of years ago, my mother took us there. Apparently, when she spent a few months studying in France back in 1970 she used to go there all the time.
