It's been a while! Sorry, pregnancy knocked me off my feet in terms of energy and follow-through, and although I've started a few DITLs in the last couple of months, this is the first one I've finished.
Things to know: I'm 22 weeks pregnant, we call the proto-human Lady Jr, we still live in AZ (but not for long, because), Dr Lady got a fellowship for a postdoc in Michigan, and we're going to be moving at the end of July. Also Dr Lady is using a boot and knee-walker because we found out she has acute tendonosis a month or so ago, which requires complete immobilization to heal.
Morning.
Check the temp to see if I can open the windows. At least for the next hour I can.
Coffee.
Head out for my walk. County workers have been putting in a new water line in our area and are (mostly) done, but seem to have left a lot of things behind.
Ugh. So pretty. But don't let that beauty fool you - it's gonna be hot as heck later.
Only a few minutes into my walk and already spotted a family of javelina. So cute!
More wildlife!
Late bloomer.
Sunrise in T minus 5...
Lady Jr is wiggling, which reminds me to take a pic of my bump. Action photo!
Another critter. This time a coyote staring at me from the middle of the path. Apparently I should have brought my longer lens!
And we have sunrise. Time to hurry back as fast as I can.
Hawk found a friend while I was gone.
I take a pic of the leaf-cutter ants for Lady Sr. Also because why not, we've seen a dozen other critters this morning.
Check the mail even though it's Sunday because I couldn't be bothered to go outside and checked it yesterday.
Kitty in the window, waiting for someone to come home and feed her.
Grab the hummingbird feeder so it can be refilled.
Time check.
I set up a fan to help get a little more fresh air in and the cats are very very confused.
Make a list.
Take a shower.
Feed the sharks cats.
Get dressed, put on the lightest dress I own.
A wild Dr Lady appears!
Assemble the mint chocolate chip ice cream cake.
Make taco meats.
Aaaand close all the windows and turn on the a/c.
Dr Lady computes.
No longer May - time to switch up the chalkboard.
Gotta let it dry first.
Dr Lady puts her boot on and harasses the cat before we head out.
Time check.
Dr Lady on her knee-walker. She's been using this thing for 5 weeks and is very proficient at it.
We have coffee (and iced tea) with our friend. I zone out and forget to take a pic of her.
Grocery time!
I can finally eat vegetables again ;;.;;
Back on the walker to go to the farmer's market.
We purchase a bag of beans from our favorite roaster and get a free cup of VERY HOT coffee. Considering it is already past 100 degrees, we take it home and put it in the fridge.
Home again.
Put away our purchases.
Have some lunch.
Time & temp check.
Dr Lady makes tuna salad.
Kona pretends the walker is hers. The cats have been weirdly obsessed with this thing.
Nap time. Yesss.
I wake to the smell of bacon. Dr Lady has been busy.
Time check. On the road again.
It just looks gross out.
Not pictured: Picking up our friend from the airport.
Pictured: dropping her off at home.
Home again for us and a pic of Darj' to prove she still exists. Just hiding, like usual.
Time check.
We sit on the couch and compile a list of houses to send to our realtor so she can get a better idea of what we're looking for.
That done, I finish the chalkboard.
And take a progress photo.
Then back to the kitchen because our work is never done.
Change the sheets.
After.
Go through the living room bookshelves. Box what we're keeping and bag what we're giving away/reselling.
After. A few books left because we simply ran out of boxes.
A wild Lora appears and gladly accepts one of the (nicer) bras I've grown out of.
The reason for visiting: it was her birthday Friday & I made her a cake, but she was out of town. So now she can eat it!
First though: sprinkles.
Ice cream cakes hold up so well!
After cake (and more cake) is eaten and catch-ups are had and birthday wishes given, it's time to unwind and feed the cats.
I make the adult decision to fold the rest of the clothes instead of sleeping on them. This is not always the case.
Read a little.
And good night!
