A homey summer DITL. A pretty lazy and average day for school being out.

I woke up when the husband got home from work (around 7:45), but lounged in bed until almost 8:30. I get up and dressed when I hear the kids stir.

Open the blinds to the sort-of-grey morning, but it'll be sunny later.

Cat needs her daily loving.

Wednesday means laundry day. Yay...

Put on some music to clean to.

Start with the kitchen. Dishes (putting away and washing), wiping down counters, putting things away, general tidying.

Owen brings me the Funko Pop TMNT van because a gun broke off so I glue it back on.

Realize I'm hungry so I make yogurt with blueberries and granola and an iced coffee. Then I sit and read for too long.

The new summer rule is that the playroom has to be clean before the kids can do anything fun so they tidy.

First load of laundry is out of the dryer so I hang and fold.

It's about 11:30 now and I decide to put together the lasagna for dinner tonight.

This burrito from Target sounded good so I try it for lunch. It was just okay.

Wash the dishes from the morning.

More laundry.

I promised the kids if they were good we'd go to the park so they sit next to me and wait.

Get in the car to drive to the park. Drive the 10 minutes to the only park I know of in the area. Get the kids out of the car. Notice like 3 bus loads of camp kids at the park. Tell my kids to be nice, share, take turns, etc. Start walking to the play structure. Get told by Camp Lady that the park is closed until 3pm. Check the time and it's 2:30. Get annoyed that NO WHERE was there a sign saying that the park was closed that day. Drive home.

At least the kids are in good spirits after the park disaster. Probably because I told them they could play in the pool in the backyard.

Say hello to Cadence when we get inside.

Suited up and enjoying the frigid water.

Snack and my book while the kids play.

I hear cries of "I'm hungry!" and "I want a snack!" so I grab cheese and crackers.

Give Cadence some pets before I head outside.

I hate being outside for too long so I sit by the glass window and watch the kids while I read. Annabeth comes in to get warmed up before heading back out.

Husband wakes up, gets ready for work, and ignores everyone to watch his phone.

It's about 4pm now so I pop the lasagna in the oven for dinner.

Sleepy Moo. Does anyone else call their pets weird nicknames? I rarely ever call Cadence by her name, it's usually moo or kitty or some variation of those.

The kids are freezing so they dry off, warm up, and get iPad time.

Dinner! Brandon doesn't like ricotta cheese so this isn't my best lasagna, but it's not bad.

After Brandon goes to work I do some online stuff and fill out a survey for Annabeth's previous ballet class.

The kids iPad, I read, and Cadence does what cats to best.

Dessert! Brownies and ice cream for the kids, just ice cream for me.

After dessert is bedtime for the little ones!

While they get PJs on I pack Annabeth's bag for her ballet class the next morning.

One last look at my favorite maxi skirt before I switch into PJs myself.

One kid brushed, the other one in process. I go in and put Beth's clean laundry away.

We read, snuggle, sing, and listen to a few songs on Youtube.

Annabeth picks out her musical giraffe to cuddle with tonight. Owen picked this out for the new baby on the day I found out I was pregnant over 4 years ago.

Read more Harry Potter to Owen, put away his clothes, and catch him fake sleeping. Silly kid.

When I'm done with the children I find a Cadence waiting by the stairs.

I collected towels upstairs (from the pool and normal bath ones) so I do another load of laundry.

Fill up the kids new responsibility chart. Still need to work a lot on not tattling.

Another round of dishes.

Annabeth has a hard time sleeping in her own room still so I let her lay on the couch while I finish cleaning.

"Time for bed, Moo!" Annabeth says as she nudges the cat to get up.

Once upstairs I put my own clothes away.

And hang up what I'm going to wear the next day. I end up with the striped shirt, but I'm wearing the other one as I'm typing this.

It's so hot in my house so I open the window and read for a bit.

She's FINALLY asleep! This girl is such a night owl.

I have about 20 pages left, but I just can't keep my eyes open any longer. Plus it's 12:30am and the kids will be up to start another day sooner than I'd like.
