Because I'm sick of all the Sally Donovan bashing

I don't blame her for the things she thought about Sherlock. I really admire her for not swallowing all his bullshit and being blinded by his genius.

Here's a little drabble. I'm not sure if I did her any justice but it's something I needed to write:

Contrary to what her supervisor might think, Sally Donovan doesn’t get any glee from the headlines about Sherlock Holmes’ suicide.

She wanted to believe, too. But just because you believed in something, in someone, didn’t make it true.

It was a lesson she learned from a very early age. Scars burnt so deep in her soul that she’ll never make the same mistake again.

Her mother still visits her stepfather in prison. She can’t say how often she wished that he’d do the same thing Sherlock Holmes had done and removed himself from the world.
