School closings

Uh! WAFF just reported All public schools in Madison County, including Huntsville and Madison city schools, will be closed Thursday and Friday due to the two cases of probable swine flu found at Heritage Elementary School in Madison Wednesday.

I can understand closing Heritage down, but the whole county and city school system?? It sent Valis into a scramble at the last minute, as I'm sure it did you, because what do you do w/ your child while you have to go to work and are expected to be there???

No reported cases here in GA yet, but I doubt they would tell us.....

I would assume the panic aspect of it. Atlanta metro has probably 6 to 8 million people, imagine cancelling all those schools, and the parents freaking out,etc. You get 2 flakes of snow and people freak, so I can imagine what a health emergency would do.
