Hey there, New People. Maybe you've registered to read, maybe you've registered to apply for character...anyway, let me fill you in on XG.

X-Men: Genesis was started early in 2005 over on EZboard by Bobby and myself. We grew, took on more staff, had a lot of fun, and in October of 2006, we closed the game.

We're reopening our doors on February 2nd, 2007...set four years after the events of our game at the board's closure in October.

SO, welcome to the New X-Men: Genesis!

Hokay, here I be playing Jubilee and Skin, along with NPCing Quicksilver when he's needed. So, needless to say, I'm barracking REAL HARD for more Gen-X members. The game's been changed to focus on the X-Men team, so there's no other teams open at this point. During the four game years that have been skipped, people left...joined other teams (With Kurt heading Excalibur, for example), before coming back now to consolidate under the main home banner.

X-Men: Covenant

Evolution has taken a great bound forward, creating in its children strange and wondrous powers. These powers are viewed as burdens, gifts, curses, abominations. They single out their bearers and make them the object of hatred, fear, distrust and envy. Some of those possessing such powers see their abilities as a sign that they are the right and the just, that they are the ones who should naturally inherit the earth and lead. That mutants are homo superior to normal homo sapiens. Some, of course, feel just the opposite.

War is brewing. A civil war of vast proportions. A war of the mutant "entitled" against their human counterparts. Yet even that is not as clear cut as one may think from the outside looking in for their are mutants who do not believe the propaganda of their fellows. While they recognize the evolutionary step, they do not think that it entitles them to anything more. These mutants wish to find a peaceful resolution between homo superior and sapiens; they wish to build the bridge to close the gap and prove once and for all that there is nothing inherently different between them and the rest of the world.

To achieve their goal, they not only have to win out over bigotry, hatred and fear, but they also must be able to prove that the addition of gifts, superhuman powers, do not a superior race make. These things are not the equivalent of a modern day Divine Right but are instead merely quirks of genetics, natural mutations as humans evolve to their next level no matter how radical a jump these reconfigurations may seem.

To this end, Charles Xavier, a mutant of unsurpassed telepathic might himself, started a school where young mutants could learn to use their powers and also be taught to be warriors in his own personal goal of tolerance, acceptance and brotherhood if they so wished. To this end, he has created his X-Men, a group of talented, powerful mutants who work with him to fight those mutants who believe that their powers give them the right to go outside the bounds of the law and also to show humans that their is nothing to fear. It is a hard road to trek, but they keep working at it as best they can, hoping to one day see a generation where humans and mutants can work hand in hand.

The latest pitfall in their path is the underground organization known as Weapon X. Working with money gleaned off of secret government grants as well as private funds, this group works toward making the most out of mutants. They kidnap and experiment on mutants whenever they can get their hands on them, trying to turn what is seen as a global threat into something that can be used for the greater good. Not willing to see mutants as actual human beings, this organization captures them with the intention of turning them into killing machines, the best weapons on the market.

A war is about to erupt. More and more mutants are disappearing everyday, though Professor Xavier is unsure about what is happening to them. His quest to discover the truth is only just beginning. Much as the quest of the leaders of Weapon X has just started to pick up speed as they attempt to capture more mutants.

The future of the world is at stake. Which way shall the wind blow? Only time will tell.

Factions

X-Men: Professor Xavier's troops in the war.

Generation X: The next generation of mutants. Will their future be dismal or bright?

Excalibur: Europe division because America is not the end all, be all.

Weapon X: Mutants who have been captured.

I'm playing Jubilee in Gen-X and Gambit in Weapon X. It's dark, psychological, and grim. Which is good, I think. I really like the premise, and the game's recently been revamped from a previous incarnation, so there's not much backstory to get all caught up on. So join, because it's a great game with an uncommon concept which needs more people.
