Ok, all the letters are in and the question is.....
School: St. Joseph's University
Accepted, with a 14,000 a year merit based scholarship and free first year tuition. But, I have no intention of going there and didn't even visited. The admission lady was pretty nice when I called to turn down the scholarship though.

School: Providence College
Accepted, with the same amount of money as St. Joe's. I never visited here either, but I really liked the school when they came to the Mount. I could see myself there, but it's not worth it to go up and look.

School: Loyola College
Accepted, with full first year tuition and 7,500 a year after that. I like Loyola and the people I know that go there are pretty happy. But, it seems too much like a college version of the Mount and I'm looking for some variety.

School: Villanova University
Accepted, 1,000 a year. Second choice school and was pretty happy when I got in. If I went, I'd be the third generation in my family to attend and my Mom's side wants me to be a good Hayes girl and go. There'd be a lot of benefits, like being really close to my family and knowing people who go (and are going) there. The only problem is I don't see myself completely fitting in. The people there are all so pretty and accomplished - they're the kind of people I want to be and spending four years with them would be a little depressing.

School: Washington University in St. Louis
Wait listed. I was sort of upset, because I had started to entertain this little fantasty of being accepted, going to visit and then most likely turning down the #9 school in the nation. I just wanted to say I was accepted into one highly ranked school. Everyone I know who applied there was wait listed, which makes me think that they put a signifigant number of applicants on the wait list, so I'm pretty un-special. Still, I accepted a spot on their wait list, just so I can see what happens.

School: Bucknell University
This was above and beyond my first choice and.......I got accepted!!! With a 20,000 scholarship for my first year!!! The scholarship lady called me from Caldwell College on Friday, so I haven't received my official letter yet, but I basically freaked out and started crying because I was so happy. I'm visiting next weekend and then I'll send the deposit in. Getting merit money made me feel so proud and accomplished. Now I can go and not feel guilty about turning down the other money.

I'm happy I didn't get rejected anywhere and got merit scholarships from everywhere I was accepted. I just wish I applied to more reach schools: Duke, UVA. It would have been nice to try and maybe even get in (if only because my Dad went there). I should have reached out more, tried a little bit harder, but what can I do now? I'm just happy the way this whole process has turned out.
