Jared TOTALLY WORKS as the gawky, dreamy orphan, and I'm finding the AU takes on classic Green Gables situations both clever and fun. Throw a peanut and you'll hit three people who have copies to lend you. My sister has mine in Montreal *grumble*, but happily the books are available in free electronic versions, since they're now in the public domain. My favourite is actually the eighth book, Rilla of Ingleside. It takes place during wartime, giving it a more active tone than the others.
