I sit, amused, in the corner watching the complaining. I am not reading Twilight. I don't have time for new books, and if I did, I certainly wouldn't read these.
You don't have to disown me! Saying Twilight sucks would be an insult to things that suck, I think. The one good thing about it is that, like Harry Potter, it had gotten a lot of kids into ( or back into) reading.The downside is that unlike Harry Potter, there is next to nothing else of even a reasonable quality that is age-appropriate in the genre. And don't get me started on the whole "unrealistic expectations" thing (which is why our adult friends are drawn to this crap, if you ask me).
I enjoyed reading the books. It only took a couple days and it was a good distraction. Then I never thought of them again. The only time that I am concerned is thinking about it being popular with the teen audience. I want to ask them, "you know it's not acceptable for someone to talk to you or treat you that way, right?" Us old people, I'm not worried about.
