Unfortunately, I think a lot of people are not awesome employees. They're ok employees. They do what they have to do to get the paycheck and go home. And that's hard to spin into something amazing in an interview.
But I think the reason for it is that so many people aren't doing what really matters to them. They're just existing when it comes to work. Why *would* you care about going out of your way for a shitty employer who treats you like a cog in the wheel? This is what breaks my heart and what I wish I could change throughout the world.
I made it public. It's just that my post-by-email settings default to friends-only by choice, and I keep forgetting the code you put in the post if you want to change the setting for just that post. Link away!
Your questions are great! As an interviewer, I would find the coffee one odd (partly because I've never worked someplace that didn't have coffee and tea stocked) but I'd roll with it. It would definitely be memorable, anyway. And I totally agree with the rationale for asking it.
