One journey ends, another begins - the birth story (week 40)

Sorry this has taken so long...as you can tell it's epically long and I'm pretty short on time these days. I took my first shower in 3 days today, and finally washed my nursing robe which was covered in breast milk and spit up, so my definition of productive has changed drastically

Congratulations! You did it!

I'd love to say that the hard part is over, but you already know better. ;) Just keep concentrating on the fact that this day will never happen again, even if it's a hard day of not sleeping and not showering and feeling like you've been beat up. He'll never be this small, this dependent on you ever again, and it's going to fly by so very fast. You'll have moments when you feel like it's never going to end (in a bad way) and then you'll blink and he's 20 pounds and nearly walking. It's insane.

If you ever want someone to talk to who will not only sympathize but empathize, Angela has my number. I can vouch for how nice it is to lose it at someone who won't judge you for suggesting that everything isn't perfect, and maybe this is WAY TOO FREAKIN' HARD sometimes. :)

Oh, and no matter what, you're totally going to kick ass at this Mommy thing. Ask anybody, they'll agree with me.
