So in love with Roshanna
So today I skipped a g-d passion party to go to the Big Brothers Big Sisters Holiday Party. A great sacrifice, indeed.
Let me just say that it feels really good to make the right choice. It's amazing to see how much Roshanna looks up to me. She's the greatest. The party was really lame but we stayed the whole 2 hours which meant-
1 trip around the cupcake walk (Roshanna won and gave me her cupcake)
2 pictures with Santa
2 decorated frames for the Santa pictures
3 berries and 2 holly leaves painted on Roshanna's face
2 cups of hot chocolate
1 game of Stick the Buttons on the Snowman (so funny)
1 game of Guess Which Giftbag has the Snoopy Coloring Book (real lame)
1 visit to the coloring table
1 round of Throw the Ball through the Wreath
12 stops at the bounce house (I only went in once, but we tore it up)
The coolest thing that happened was that right when I showed up Roshanna ran over to me and said in disgust, "The Santa is skinny. He's too skinny." Then she pointed at him and said, "Look, he's too skinny." Then she groaned and said, "Uggh, he has pillows on." When we went to take our picture with him she said, "Skinny body. Skinny face. Skinny beard." Wow. A little later she started complaining about it again and decided that he must be hungry so we had to take him a cookie and hot chocolate. Seriously. How much do you love this child?
I also found out that her family is going to get a house through Habitat for Humanity. They're going to have a ceremony on Martin Luther King Jr day and then start building. Isn't that so exciting? I think it's pretty great.
