I got this from the altered books lj community
a group of people who excel at this craft,
and bring so much beauty to a merely mortal world.
this touched me today -- an old Chinese Proverb:
The longer the night, the more our dreams.
thought for the day. . .

mine usually just means insomnia though
chinese for you: "be careful what you wish for, you just might get it." --actually, that is a "ME" original ;)
seriously- I had learned this by 17 and was known to say it occasionally (and had never heard it otherwise)
several years later? it appeared in my fortune cookie-- worded like this: "be careful what star you wish on, for it may come true. . ." ;)
