The unfortunate thing about standing so damn close to a monstrosity like Chaosmon at that when things went boom, they tended to take just about anything in the immediate area down with whatever went boom.
And Chaosmon really liked to make things go boom.
So the Duklyon Defenders, along with their Seraphimon, were thrown for a loop, and thrown far.
Kentarou woke up first, his head pounding and throat burning from the thick dust around them. His helmet had cracked slightly on the visor, but not enough to break completely or distort his vision too much. But his body was already aching something awful and he could hear nothing but the sounds of battle all around himself.
"T... Takeshi... kun..." he groaned, gloved hand groping around for his friend.
Takeshi hadn't seen the blast coming, and was thrown along with Kentarou and Seraphimon across rock and dirt until he skidded to a stop. He could hear Kentarou calling for him nearby and tried to assess whatever damage he might have incurred. Rolling over onto his back, he could feel his chest plate digging into his collar bone, putting pressure on the healed but still sometimes painful injury. His joints and shins were also starting to ache, but he managed to sit up and attempted to peer through the dust and debris that had been kicked up by the explosion.
"Hng..." Kentarou groaned, slowly getting to his knees and then finally to his feet, desperately wanting to ignore the ache that was making it so hard to move. Squinting, he could see where Takeshi was sitting, and nearby Seraphimon was standing, strangely quiet with head turned towards the ongoing battle. Whatever was happening, it sounded like a damn mess over there.
Kentarou stumbled over and held his hand out to Takeshi to help him up.
Taking Kentarou's hand he got to his feet and winced when he put weight on his right leg. His knee felt like it had been tweaked but now wasn't the time to worry about that. He'd competed with worse injuries.
"Feel like a train ran in to my head..." he answered in a grumble. He was about to ask how Takeshi was doing, but he was stopped by Seraphimon's dual voice speaking as both Guripi and Takepon.
"Guys... we gotta do something..." he said, still staring in to the battle. It was difficult to see what exactly was going on, but whatever it was that Chaosmon was doing it had set their Jogressed partner ill at ease.
Eggman waved his hand down, and the Shadowbots started to unleash a volley of fire upon the wraith. Mugendramon positioned himself, and charged his cannons as well.
Lina shot that out, and inhaled as much breath as her small chest could hold.
"That blade is the Sword of Light. It is a fragment of the Demon Lord Dark Star Dugradigdu, created from the thing itself when it fused with its opposite god Volfeed, in a parallel world from mine. Those gods are second only to the Lord of Nightmares, creator of the Four Worlds, of which MINE is one of. That sword, Gorun Nova, made its way to my world and was passed down through the generations by the Gabriev family. I encountered Gourry years ago, and was able to use that blade to destroy a fragment of OUR Demon Lord, Ruby Eye Shabrinigdo, which would have otherwise destroyed the world. We then later used Gorun Nova and its four sister weapons to destroy Dark Star, Volfeed, AND a nutcase, world-ending Mazoku/Dragon hybrid from annihilating everything that lived. AGAIN."
She pointed at Vergil, and panted.
"I can use that sword as a magical amplifier. And there are two extremely powerful Mazoku - very pieces of Shabrinido himself - I can use

Vergil stood, silently, for several seconds. Even as all hell was loosed around them, he took an uncharacteristic five seconds to consider her words. "All useful information," Vergil replied, drawing the Gorun Nova's hilt from within his coat. "And all you require is this?"
He sneered at her. "And you would use it to summon that spell you attempted against me on a higher level," he said in disgust. "I don't know whether to scorn your plan, your weakness, or your short-sightedness."
Chaosmon moving!

Still, it wasn't like Darkdramon was something that they hadn't been able to beat before. Well, that others haven't been able to beat before, rather.
Yuka realized her own blade, hands tightening around the hilt as Victory Greymon ran forward, slashing over at the Darkdramon Wraith's back.
Cheap? Probably so, but the sooner they killed that thing the better.

"MUGEN CANNON!"

Lina was, momentarily, more concerned with one silver haired, blue jacket wearing swordsman that had landed a short distance away.
Examon had been told to hang back, so as not to attract Chaosmon or is Wraith's attention.
Thus, Lina was marching up - ignoring Dante, she KNEW he'd had something to do with Vergil - and shouted.
"VERGIL!"

He gestured for Dante and their partners to move. There was no reason that both of them should be tied up with pointlessness.
GranDracmon stared at Lina for half a moment, before scoffing and disappearing from sight.

Dante just eyed his brother.

"And what will you do with it?" he asked, looking up once more at Chaosmon in the air. "Save the day from this creature?"
