I found my acceptance package from NYU while cleaning my room. I could feel myself choking up when I read the acceptance letter and leafed through the folder with all the random information I will never need

If it makes you feel any better (and I admit that it might not) think of it this way: NYU could have been a terrible mistake. All I know is that having gone to the "best" school that I got accepted to, it turned out to be a major dissapointment and I hate it.

So yeah, not that it should instantly make all you problems go away, but if it helps, while you're trying to convince yourself that UMD is a great fit for you, try to convince yourself also that NYU probably couldn 't live up to your heart-breaking expectations for it
