Has been an inexcusably long time since an update. All I can say is that between the flu, Christmas, work, and difficulties with the opposite sex, I haven't felt like it. I haven't even been reading any fanfic because in the wake of said difficulties, I haven't wanted to touch any romance. :-) But, school's back so I'll have to get back into

Ha, I am 41 and growing out of my clothes but not of the HP universe.

BTW: we have unwanted pets in Austria, more than we like to have but it is tried to minimize the euthenizing rate. In the big shelter in Vienna its forbidden, only when the animal is sick then its allowed. Some years ago we had another boss there for 8 months and it was a massacre! So I completely understand this strictly forbidding of killing unwanted animals, just because nobody will take them. You have to be extreme careful and very very responsible.
I personally take care for 100 birds and 3 cats, all of them injured, unwanted, maybe to be released again, etc.
My boss has a rehabilitation centre for injured wild birds (mainly raptors and owls) but also other feather persons and for turtels (approx. 800 animals at all).
We also do not kill only for medical reasons, but you quickly are full and then you have the problem of a good and adequate keeping.
