The point I get at is...what the hell are you doing drunk in public anyways? It's an annoyance to the general public, and police officers 99% of the time will shun this.
Well, typically, when people go to bars, they drink. Sometimes, they drink too much and become drunk. Then, when they have to go home, they do the responisble thing and not drive. And, sure, cops don't like people being drunk in public, but they like drunk drivers even less.
All things considered, he was doing the right thing.
I'm understanding both points---at least he wasn't driving drunk and he did something stupid while being drunk and got a lot of money for it.
I've taken the subway drunk many times in Japan, but usually I was with people so we would keep ourselves from doing something really dumb, like falling on the tracks.
That drunk bastard is lucky he's still alive. I think it's wrong for people to point the blame at the driver when clearly it was an accident on someone elses accord.
It's great to know that if we get into a drunken accident we can sue for millions and most likely win. What about those families that lost children to idiot drunk drivers? Lame.
