Thank you for both of those! See, I live in Ontario, where they try to give everyone flu shots. I don't like getting them - they don't make me any less sick, in my experience. Heck, sometimes I get it worse if I *do* get the shot! So yeah.... useless. The gov't can keep them. I still support the idea, though, as some people should get them (like my mom, who's diabetic).

Oh yeah, people like your Mom definitely but it just kills be how over the top people get with stuff like this and the reality is not what they are lead to believe...it just really gets me when it comes from people who really should know better :)

oh that was actually kinda fun to read. Here they are really more into the flu jabs for the elderly and young children and not so much everyone else(at least that i know of) i hate jans so i wld never get it anyway, i'm terrified of needles.

As for the antibioics thing, i have to admit i have bn guilty a few times of not deliberately stopping when i feel better bt forgetting abt them bcos of it. I never reuse then tho, i just dnt think that's a good idea.

Anyyway, just wanted to say this was a very informative and cool rant. At least in my opinion, is that weird?

No no, I'm glad you enjoyed it...it was meant to educate and in no way would I be mad at you for not finishing antibiotics...you wouldn't necessarily know this stuff. But when it comes from people who should it gets me very angry. So now you know :) and I feel like I helped! Yay :D

Thanks, I'm just a big bio-geek at heart! I just find infectious diseases facinating in how simple and small they are but how they can beat even a complex creature such as ourselves...that and how doctors and scientists deal with them is so interesting...

Yeah media hype just kills me especially since they don't seem to check their sources and just spin everything to their liking...*sigh*

I have never ever gotten a flu shot(voluntarily, we're not including any draggings by the parents to the doctor man that may or may not have happened when I was a tiny little Psycho). And I haven't died of the horrid scary oogly boogly that is the flu.
