Oh. Oh.

This is just...lovely. So gentle, so understated, and so perfect.

I particularly loved this: "It took me a while to figure out, but yeah, I got it." She took a long pull and then looked over at him. "I'll admit that I've found life is easier when I bypass the meaningful stuff."

This is great because, first, I have this weird kink that Vala is kind of a female version of Jack, and this resonates so much with me as being characteristic of both of them. I also love how it's the way Vala sees herself reflected back from the others on Earth...even starting with the airmen she sees when first through the Gate...that brings her to understanding this about herself - and that she's changed and grown past this.

Most of all, what's great about this is Vala's maturity here - she understands that this will take work for her. It's a much more realistic "reboot" than what we saw in "Unending," - less high drama, fewer theatrics, and more adult reality.

Really, really fantastic. :)
