In-Game Character Information
Name: Cecil Harvey
Series: Final Fantasy IV
Age: 37

Personality: Cecil is a proud and noble man, with a strong sense of duty to his country, his family, and his friends. He is usually calm and collected, with an inherently gentle nature that is typically perceived by others as warm and welcoming. Because of the events of his life, he is very selfless, and almost always puts the welfare of his companions before himself. He is also exceedingly forgiving to his close friends; the most notable of this being his forgiveness of his best friend, who attacked and betrayed him several times, as well as his long lost brother after discovering he was his only living family member.

Despite his upbringing by the leader of Baron, he is very modest, and will never put his own skills and strengths above others. He always puts the lives of others before himself, and is known to be the first to cover an ally when they are injured; he is especially protective of his close friends and family. To be short, he is your typical knight in shining armor... though he does have his own little vice. He's a closet pervert, and he keeps his favorite magazine he found at the Lali-Ho Pub hidden in a floor board beneath the bed. No one tell his wife.

Background: It is the duty of the Lunarians on the moon to watch over the Earth, so that they may appear to human beings -- Muggles and wizards alike -- once they had reached the same level of understanding as their race. However, years ago, a curious Kluya descended to Earth and became fascinated with the planet and its people. He met a lovely woman by the name of Cecilia and, once he decided that he would stay on Earth, hid his starship in the waters at the tip of Italy's boot before settling down with Cecilia in the nearby quiet little wizarding village of Mysidia. Kluya shared with the villagers his knowledge of magic, but unfortunately some of the villagers did not agree with his pacifistic ways. Before Cecil was born, he was attacked and fatally injured by the villagers. His eldest son tried to heal him, only to find that despite his gift in magic, healing artes were lost to him. Kluya died, and a few days later, Cecilia died giving birth to Cecil.

As the Mysidians warred amongst themselves, Cecil's elder brother, his heart tainted by his despair, abandoned him in the forests surrounding Baron, a questionably last act of kindness before his heart was consumed by evil. Fortunately, the small country was isolated from the Muggle world, and one of the last wizarding kingdoms that still observed the old ways. The king of Baron found Cecil not long after, and took him in as his own. Cecil was raised with all the care, kindness, and affection a royal house could afford, though it was not long before his gift in magic became apparent. At eleven, he was sent to Hogwarts, where he met the two people that would forever be a pivotal part of his life: his best friend and the woman that would become the love of his life. However, he was pulled from Howarts early, before his fourth year, to attend Baron’s royal military academy, where the king insisted that he learn dark magic, so as to better understand the dark wizards he may confront in the future.

After his graduation, he was put in command of the Red Wings, Baron's elite broom-riding defenders so named for their red brooms and red cloaks (with the exception of Cecil, who was clad in black to signify his status as a dark magic wielder). Still, Cecil does not particularly enjoy his knowledge of dark magic, especially when Baron broke their isolation and attacked the wizards of Mysidia. He voiced his concerns to the king afterward, only to be stripped of his rank; though the king gave him a chance to save face by delivering a package to a nearby village... only to find out the package contained dark magic that summoned monsters to burn the village to the ground. Heartbroken and upset, Cecil swore that he would never again be used in such a manner, even if it meant going up against the man that he looked up to as a father.

Gathering allies, Cecil set out to return to Baron, only to be confronted by his best friend, and the hulking dark wizard of formidable power that currently had him under an Imperius Curse. The love of his life is captured by him, and Cecil later discovers that this fearsome person took over command of the Red Wings, filling the ranks with conjured dark monsters. He sets out with his remaining allies to get his love back, only to be caught in a tempest caused by the Lord of the Sea, Leviathan. Fortunately he survived, only to find himself near Mysidia. With no place else to go, Cecil humbly set himself before the elder of the village, asking for forgiveness and a chance to make things right. With his soul tainted by dark magic, there was very little Cecil could do in his current state... but if he cleansed his soul and become a paladin, then he could do something.

Cecil crossed the sea to come to Greece and Mount Ordeals in the company of two magical prodigies of the village. They climbed the mountain, only to be barred by an Elemental Archfiend of Earth. After a difficult battle, Cecil moved on to an alter that transported all of them to a room full of mirrors. He accepted the sword of light, but he could not keep it unless he conquered his own darkness; which he did by refusing to raise a sword against himself, accepting his past and moving on to the future with a full heart.

Successful, Cecil and his companions set out to Baron once more, where they discovered that the beloved king was long dead, replaced by another Elemental Archfiend. Next, it was on to saving his love, managing to do so as well as free his friend from the Imperius Curse thanks to the sacrifice of one of his dear allies. What followed was a whirlwind rush about the world, trying to stop the dreaded dark wizard from destroying everything. They went everywhere, even into the depths of the earth where the dwarves dwelt, but the wizard was always one step ahead of them, and it was not long before the Giant of Babil -- a massive, ancient dark creature -- was to be released. With no ideas, Cecil returned to the little Italian village, where the elder spoke of a prophecy -- the same prophecy that was written on the sword he had received.

Once it was spoken aloud, his father's old starship rose from the ocean, settling near the village. The next destination was clear, and as soon as Cecil and his companions boarded the ship, it sailed off into the air, taking them all to the moon, where an ancient Lunarian revealed Cecil's heritage to him... and the fact that the dark wizard they had been fighting against this whole time was his own brother. Shocked and unsure what to do, Cecil and the others returned to Earth with the Lunarian, only to find that the Giant had indeed been revived. Fortunately, the forces of the places they had visited came together, stalling the beast just long enough for their group to enter the monster, destroying it from the inside, and saving Cecil's brother from the curse he himself had been under in the process.

Cecil's brother and the elderly Lunarian returned to the moon to deal with the true source of the conflict. Still conflicted, it took Cecil some time before he decided to follow after them; he attempted to leave on his own, but his companions snuck on board the starship, surprising him. Together, they descended into the depths of the moon and confronted the monstrous Zeromus, the Lunarian embodiment of hatred and despair. They were victorious after a long and grueling battle, and Cecil and his companions returned to earth, but not before Cecil forgave his brother for everything he had done.

Cecil took the throne of Baron and married the love of his life. Together they had a son, and it was years after his birth that Cecil received a letter from his old friend Cid, requesting that he personally come to teach at Hogwarts. Concerned that he would request for him in such a manner, Cecil left the country in his wife's more than capable hands, and traveled back to his old school.

Blood: Questionably full.

Preferred House: Ravenclaw
Why you think they belong in this house? Cecil is very intelligent; canonically, he graduated top of his class in the academy he attended. While he prominently displays Gryffindor attributes, Ravenclaw better suits his intelligence and strategic capabilities.

Staff Position: Divination
Why you think they fit this position? Cecil is half Lunarian, a species of human like individuals that reside on the moon. The moon has strong ties to all forms of divination, and therefore the idea that Cecil would be able to easily read and interpret the phases of the moon and what they could mean is not that far of a stretch.
If Professor would you want them to be Head of House? Possibly; he does have good leadership skills.

And I'm feeling entirely uncreative, so have a Firebolt and a Quaffle. :|b

Journal Sample:
It's been so long since I've been here... it's wonderful to see that nothing has changed.

Greetings, students of Hogwarts. My name is Cecil Harvey, and I will be the Divination professor for third, fourth, and fifth years. I am very well aware of the fact that it is a questionable subject at best, but I must ask that you take my class seriously. Random predictions of doom just to finish a homework assignment will not be tolerated, and if you cannot behave in an appropriate manner, there are other electives for you to choose from.

I look forward to seeing you all in class.

Roleplay Sample:
A quiet day; Cecil had to admit that he was a touch surprised to get one so soon after joining the staff of his old school. He thought for certain that he would be drowning in papers to grade and other such problems, but his grading was finished, and the other professors had already greeted him and welcomed him to the staff.

Well, since he had time... and no one was around to bother him...

Cecil glanced around, almost like he was afraid the walls would suddenly sprout eyes and tattle on him to his wife. Satisfied such a ludicrous thing would not be happening, he opened the lower desk drawer... before snapping open a hidden compartment, revealing a questionable collection of magazines.

"Ahh..." he murmured, pulling out his precious favorite that he found in the dwarven Lali-Ho pub all those years ago. Certainly he was entitled to a little devious fun, seeing as his wife was not around and all his work was finished. He was just about to unfold the pinup, when a faint knock on the door nearly made him jump out of his skin. Fumbling about, he snapped the magazine back into the desk, his heart still pounding as he called the person in.

It seemed like things in the school were going to be like how they were at home. How horribly disappointing.
