Blogcrew Tutorial

I know a lot of you like posting/claiming blogcrews, so do I! XD Well so this post ..... is how I usually do it, so you don't have to follow 100%. :3 I'll start with a simple, pictureless blogcrew, this one~!

Firsly, in a new entry, click "HTML" at the side of "Rich text", then type this:

Because most blogcrews are aligned at the center, it looks better that way right? :3 If you don't want it to be at the center, just don't put the code.
For the ❤ symbol, I've many of these kinds, just grab any of this to your liking~ XD

Then add it to your crew, CTRL+C, or right click, copy and paste:

This ♥ heart can be typed as ♥ too. ;3 The big and fatter heart like this ❤ is a different one. LOL. & Be sure to double check by clicking "Rich text" every few times you edit your crew to make sure it's right. :3
Now for the fonts. I pick a font I want, or any font that is suitable. You can just refer any fonts through Microsoft Word or anywhere convenient for you. XD I used the font called "impact" for the word CLAIMHERE, so now go back to "HTML" and type your codes and your closing tag :

For the word "Be Mine! ❤", I used "georgia", like this:

Don't need to worry about putting
because lj post has already set it to auto formatting, if you wanna disable auto formatting, click "HTML" and tick the box right underneath it. (
inserts a single line break)
And now your blogcrew will look like this:

So small and boring?! D: Now to edit the font sizes. Add anywhere in front of the word "CLAIM HERE", make sure to add after it to close the tag so that it won't screw up the rest of the post. Like this:

Same goes to "Be Mine! ❤", it's size is 4 so:

Cute? :D It's up to you how big or small the font you want it to be, just change the numbers, 1-10 is the best because it gets really big and it'll flood the page ; A ;
Now for colors! 8'D It's so dull! Pick any colors, hex codes you like, I always use http://www.colorpicker.com/, you just have to pick a color and click it, the hex code will appear on top. I like purple because of someone I adore so so much, I randomly choose a good looking purple and I copy the hex code #be38d3. XD I add and the closing tag to my crew! :-

YOSH! Now for "Be Mine! ❤". I picked a dark gray(or almost black), #242424. So now ADD! :-

It's up to you if you don't wanna change the colors, leave it like this, empty is fine too. The color or font look will just follow the original font color and types according to your layout codes. :3
Okie, for a blogcrew you'll always need a link back to your original post! If not how can others claim? D: Add in front of the ❤. Remember to add the closing tag behind it! The easier way is to click the "Insert/Edit Link" button up there lj provided, the one that looks like a globe. So now my code for this blogcrew looks like this:

GOOD! Your colors, and link is there! :D Now you're wondering why the ❤ is not red in color(go right back at the top to look)? Its hex code is #ce0707 so add in front of the ❤, DON'T ADD IT IN FRONT OF YOUR LINK CODES. Because it won't work. LOL. Okay it looks like that now:

If you're wondering why I don't use the tools thingy lj prepared,
It's because the codes from these won't work if you usually post your blogcrew claims in your profile. And I like it better that way, -shrugs-

ADDITIONAL TIPS FROM THE AWESOME yue_akuma aka coding expert, LOL!! XD
• Don't forget to put the "#" in front of your hex codes! Lots of blogcrews maker forget it, so the colors don't appear!
• When pasting your URL into the code, please make sure to ERASE any "_fcksavedurl" that could be! It's useless and takes a lot of caracters for nothing!
• Also, if the attribute "alt" is empty, ERASE IT TOO. No need to put a blank attribute, really.
• Your "font" attributes. Please put them together.
Example : < font face="impact">< font size="6">< font color=#be38d3>CLAIM HERE, can be shorten to < font face="impact" size="6" color=#be38d3>CLAIM HERE,
I guess it's not obligatory, but it makes the code more simple.
• Finally, PLEASE AVOID THE SPAN ATTRIBUTE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN, because the "span" settings won't appear on some pages (in the livejournal profile for example). The "font" attribute can do everything anyway.
