I don't even know if we have roller derby in the UK...I'd love to watch it but I don't think I'd be able to do it!

It isn't as popular there--but there are quite a few teams.

Here's a list of all the teams, scroll down for "United Kingdom":

That was a good answer. I've been thinking about questions for you, but none have come to me yet.

Well, I've got enough topics for a few days so maybe something will come to you in that time.

I've never seen roller derby. When I move back to the States, I'll definitely have to check it out!

(edited for a lame typo)

I always think of Roller Derby as Wrestling with wheels.

I always describe it more like rugby on skates.

There are some similarities with wrestling, I think--but people often think derby game are staged the way pro-wrestling matches are. There was some brief period, I think in the 1980s, where that was true--but it is no longer the case.

Glad you're having so much fun with your derby team! It's great everyone is so supportive.

Speaking of saying "sorry" all the time, that absolutely drives me crazy. It seems more and more people feel the need to apologize for every little thing they do. And half the time they've done nothing wrong.

What is wrong with our society that people feel the need to be so submissive at the same time no one wants to take responsibility for their actions and more and more people are suing over BS? It doesn't add up at all.

Yeah, the "sorry" phenomenon is a strange one--and I'm guilty of it myself.

And you're right--that attitude combined with the "sorry" phenomenon is even stranger.
