It seems to me, at least, like they switch back and forth about how they want us to feel about Dwight on The Office.

Dollhouse ran for two seasons...which was one more than I think anyone expected it to.

Actually, yeah. They used the second season to really wrap things up. Whedon hadn't expected to get the second season so he really took advantage of it to finish the story.
