Why stop there? Why not make women watch a video of a breast augmentation before they have cosmetic surgery? Or force men to watch a prostatectomy before undergoing cancer surgery? Why not have all pregnant women watch a ceasarean section video as soon as they get a positive pregnancy test, so they can make an informed decision? Hell, my dad needed open heart surgery, I think it would have been awesome for him to watch the proceedure being done and weigh his squeamishness against his continued fatigue & chest pain.
